My first guess is a bad clock battery.  They're cheap, and usually
found at Radio Shack.

IIRC, you want a CR2325 battery.

If you aren't near a store that has one, you can mail order one.
A fairly inexpensive site is: http://www.watchbattery.com/

The battery is about the size of a quarter, and is on the CPU
board (on a 9x8 anyway).
