Hi

Thanks for all the suggestions.  It turned out to be Netbase, something I
should have removed some time ago and the buffer had filled up, locking the
database and the session.

Tickling the back of my mind is a program called "UNDEDLOK" -- since you
mention this is in regards to an image database, perhaps something has
entered a "deadly embrace" situation -- undedlok is supposed to help break
deadlocks...
