Is anyone successfully using LPQ-1200 printers with Network Printing?
We purchased one to replace our 2566 printers which are going off
maintenance soon (as was mentioned in an earlier thread) and we don't
want to risk running them off of HP-IB on our 969/120.

At first glance, it looked like everything was working. The printer
runs in PCL-II emulation mode and seems to get along with network
printing with pjl_supported = TRUE. Then things went terribly wrong.

Our pre-printed forms we used on the 2566 don't work on the LPQ1200, it
is using a smaller font. I tried changing the printer to use LP PLUS
emulation instead of PCL-II, but somehow it reverts to PCL-II when the
print job is sent. It also exhibits "page creep" with COBOL output done
with a file using the LINEAGE clause (pre-space, no literal form feeds).

These are not using ENV files or TT files, just the standard network
printing setup (which on LaserJets, sets 132-column 66 lines/page
landscape). My suspicion is that Network printer driver is sending PCL
sequences to fit 132 columns on an 11" landscape page at 8.5"x11" and
the output seems to concur. It should scale to 14"x11" for this
printer, but the defaults are hardcoded in the spooler.

Ideas? Suggestions? Workarounds? This is becoming a "big" deal for
us.
