I thought the old "Jumbo" printers duplexed in batches, printing several
pages on one side then turning them over while printing the second side on
the previous batch. The duplex path was very long and could handle several
sheets at once.

Having sorted out more than a few wrecks on this printer I would extract
quite a few pages printed on one side only.

It was a monster.
