Subject: Hangs on the DDS-3 tape drives
We are in the process of installing 939's in all of our remote sites.
After installation, the sites are calling in saying that their backups are
hanging with a -44 message. This seems to be a persistent problem with
most of the new 939's we received. One way around it was to simply replace
the tape. But this is not a "real" solution. Anyone have any suggestions.
We are considering turning off hardware compression.
