Here's the scoop folks ---
MPE patches do exist on the server noted by Wray Smallwood...either
via WWW or anonymous FTP.

Fire up FTP (seems to be the best way), and:

   open us-support.external.hp.com
   user anonymous
   pass <e-mail address>
   cd mpe-ix_patches/c.55.00
   get <patchfilename>

One little gotcha --- there are a couple which are over 20MB and if
using FTP.ARPA.SYS, you will need to add "buildparms" to get around
the "default file size" --- these will fail because they are too
large to fit in the default file size. (It would be nice if HP put
the size in sectors somewhere so we know what to set the buildparms
to) --- but the good news is that you can get them.

You can use a job as below to get them, if your HP is connected to
the net...

!JOB GETHPPAT,MANAGER.SYS,INSTALL;PRI=CS;OUTCLASS=LP,1
!TELLOP *** HP PATCH DOWNLOAD STARTING *** DON'T ABORT! ***
!FTP.ARPA.SYS
USER ANONYMOUS
[log in to unmask]
CD mpe-ix_patches/c.55.00
ASCII
GET DICJXE3B
GET IACJXA3A
...etc...etc...etc...
GET TRXJXC3B
QUIT
!EOJ

Once there - you can use the UNPACK command file to do the dirty work
of unpacking the patch archive and then use PATCHIX or AUTOPAT...

Best,
Joe
