Hi -
We're having a problem getting certain networking software to peacefully
co-habitate on our HP Operations PC with HP Openview and DTCMGR.
Would anyone have any experience in this area? The 'problem child' is a PC
with Windows for Workgroups (WFW 3.11), WRQ Reflection Network Series
(RNS3000 5.1), HP OpenView (HPOV 7.2) and HP DTC Manager (HPDTC
14.2). We'd like to be able to use the WFW File sharing capability _across_
a router which passes only TCP/IP. When I install the Microsoft TCP/IP
stack, HP OPENVIEW starts to 'complain' and issue various OVNETMON
errors. The HP RC tells me that their TCP/IP stack (located in
C:\PCTCP\) is definitely _not_ winsock compliant and furthermore _must_
be used rather than either the Microsoft WINSOCK.DLL or the WRQ
Winsock.DLL.
Does anyone know of a way to use PC-based DTC management (to download and
poll the DTCs) and yet take advantage of the WFW file-sharing capabilities?
I'd like to use the PC for more than an occasional DTC download.
Thanks in advance.
