Ray Shahan asked:

Is the server dead, or is everything just that good in 3k land?
-----
Nope, server(s) isn't/aren't dead.

1) Yesterday was Monday, a.k.a. *shock* I have to be back at work day.
2) Today's been quiet, no problems so far (*that's a good thing*).
3) You're taunting us, like that grand lady that used to gather friends for
dinner, lean over to one (Truman Capote?) and say "dahhhhhling, start
something...."

So in the spirit of starting something:

With the unreasonably high price of oil in the international markets, we
need to:
1) drill here, drill now, pay less
2) if China and Cuba can drill for oil off the coast of Florida, we should
too
3) the Caribou are doing just fine, even getting "frisky" around the
Trans-Alaska pipeline and have *increased* the herd sizes, stop worrying
about the Caribou
4) do the Caribou a favor - drill for oil in ANWAR and give the Caribou
another nice warm pipeline to huddle around to survive Alaskan winters
5) somebody out there needs to put together a "home solar cell power plant
package" that won't take 20 years to recover the cost (3-5 years would be
okay) and won't take a second mortgage to have installed and the local
electric utility won't be able to charge you a fortune for the equipment and
connections required to sell them your excess electricity
6) put the wind power project off Cape Cod and to *heck* with Teddy
Kennedy's scenic view from the Kennedy compound - if hundreds of wind
turbines generating electricity in West Texas and parts of California is
good enough for the citizens of Texas and California and they're doing their
part to reduce fossil fuel use, then "Uncle Teddy" should lead by good
example, not selfishness for his "scenic view"
7) throw out all the bums in Congress, they have a lower rating with the
public than the President does - put libertarians in every seat in Congress
8) amend the Constitution to require a 4/5 majority for tax increases
9) abolish the IRS and replace it with a national sales tax - this will do
three things: a) eliminate the cost of record keeping for tax code
compliance that's built into the price of everything; b) put the power of
the purse at the state level - that will do more to take back Congress from
the special interests than electing 535 libertarians; and c) get the
government out of everybody's financial business which the founding fathers
and mothers would argue was and is never the business of government in the
first place

Okay, something started....
