Hello Ted Johnson,
Re: JINETD Job won't abort
Sounds like possible problems with telnet to me...
I suggest following:
1. Involve your friends at the HP-RC
2. Change the priority of the inetd process from default of ds queue
to priority of cs. This is done as follows:
Modify the job JINETD.NET.SYS with an editor as follows:
!run inetd.net.sys;pri=cs
Then stop and restart the JINETD job.
3. Install patches NSTEDV6 and PTDEDU6 which includes the 1653224386 fix.
Note: MPEJXN9B is a required dependant of NSTEDV6. Note: All of these
recommended patches are BETA TEST.
4. If further occurance of a INETD hang which stops new telnet
connections is seen, then take a memory dump while the INETD is
hung and a telnet connection is in progress (also hung).
I hope this helps... If the HP-RC has questions about this when you call,
tell them you talked to me "James Hofmeister in WTEC", they know only too
well where to find me.
Regards,
James Hofmeister
