That seems to be a known symtom, please check the following:
 
1) SQE heartbeat MUST be set on any tranceiver used with the
   DTC, and
 
2) Missing heartbeat causes many EVENT 1289 messages to be logged
   if any classes besides 1 are configured for logging on the DTC.

Hi all,
 
Our DTC Manager is logging errors on one of our DTCs and I can't seem
to find the manual that would have the error codes in it (normal sys
admin on vaction).
 
The error is Class 3 (non-critical) Severity 7 Code 1289.  If anyone
can tell me what this error is I would appreciate it much.  It is
flagging the LAN card and is reporting about 3 errors a second (yes..a
second).  Everything seems to be working fine, but it is getting
annoying having logs fill up every 10 minutes or so.
