Hello All,

RE: FTP issues

--------------------------------------------------
I looked at Marks example of a 'testdir' built
with a security mask of {770}

/BIXBY/DEMO:
total 1
drwxrwx--- 2 MGR.BIXBY... 320 Feb 28 09:52 testdir
--------------------------------------------------

Does any one recollect what the technical reason is that we are not
allowed to modify a "MPE" Account or Group directory entry with chmod?

:newacct testa,mgr
:sh
shell/iX> cd ../..
shell/iX> pwd
/
shell/iX> ls -l
total 215
...
dr-xr-xr-x 2 MANAGER.SYS SYS 21240 Jun 13 2001 SYS
dr-xr-xr-x 1 MANAGER.SYS TELESUP 5940 Aug 17 2001 TELESUP
dr-xr-xr-x 1 MANAGER.SYS TESTA 180 Mar 3 01:22 TESTA

shell/iX> mkdir X

shell/iX> chmod 770 X
...
dr-xr-xr-x 1 MANAGER.SYS TESTA 180 Mar 3 01:22 TESTA
drwxrwx--- 2 MANAGER.SYS 0 224 Mar 3 01:40 X

shell/iX> chmod 770 TESTA
chmod: file "TESTA": Invalid argument

... It sure would be nice if we could limit the ability to view files
in MPE Accounts and Groups as well as limit the ability to traverse
through these MPE Accounts and Groups with the Shell, ls, listfile and
FTP/iX by performing an appropriate chmod commands.
