Me too: my S/987 usually doesn't go past a Shut 3 no matter how long I
wait while my S/957 usually goes to a Shut 6 rather quickly.

FWIW, I've been told that pending replies can hold things up (in fact,
you can do a Ctrl-A RECALL while this system is in the midst of shutting
down), I've also been told that you'll never get to a Shut 6 unless you
do a SAVE DATA on every screen in NMMGR.
