This thread has been very interesting to me.  My previous impressions have
been that reliable dial-out from an hp3000 was not possible without special
extra hardware, due to various flow control and handshaking issues.  Recent
messages seem to imply I may have been mistaken.  Is it possible to have an
hp3000 dial-out with a modem and, say, do a scripted file transfer or
establish a remote terminal session?  What software would I need to do this?
