I've heard the same rumor.  Specifically, B-Tree indices will be
supported -- also in beta test and also headed for Express 3.

I have some questions:

a) Will the driver allow the client to access Image without Image/SQL (or
AllBase ?
b) If yes, will it allow the client to make "good" use of third party indexes
- such as Omnidex or Superdex ?
