Try LISTFILE,6 into a temp file, sort reverse (descending filenames),
add PURGE commands (eg in EDITOR with change 1 to "purge " in all) and
then run this as command file.

Purging from last to first name should avoid large XM transactions
whereas purging from first to last name would cause such XM monsters.
