for the notification part of the question, we use MAIL downloaded from
Telemon; works great:
! IF CHKTAPE_RESULT <> 0
! ECHO dev !BUPDEV status !CHKTAPE_RESULT > MAILTEXT
! PRINT CTRESULT >> MAILTEXT
! echo that was try !MYTRIES of 5... >> MAILTEXT
! CONTINUE
! COMMENT send it to tracy's pager...
! mail "-t [log in to unmask] -m MAILTEXT &
! -s '!HPSYSNAME !HPJOBNAME' &
! -h 10.10.3.230 -f [log in to unmask] "
! COMMENT same message to Tracy's cell phone...
! CONTINUE
! mail "-t [log in to unmask] -m MAILTEXT &
! -s '!HPSYSNAME !HPJOBNAME' &
! -h 10.10.3.230 -f [log in to unmask] "
the .230 address is our MSExchange server; using an address it allows helps.
