I think that a better analogy in this case is, "no we don't have an
electronic security system, the locks on the door actually work and
no one else has a set of keys."  There are virus protections in place:
things like passwords (and their security) and delegation of privileges.
Windows just can't measure up in those fields.

Also, there's the "security through obscurity" aspect.  There are more
viruses written for Windows simply because there are so many Windows
machines.  But that's a bad thing on which to rely.
