Has anyone seen this before?
We have some STDLists that should have been SPSAVE, at the OUTFENCE, their
outclass set to our group's device class of network printers. Since we
hadn't needed to print these for months, we weren't too concerned when
network changes made these printers unavailable. But something 'brought them
to life', and the operators saw the regular console messages complaining
that the printers were unreachable.
This is not the first time this has happened; I dumped the system log to see
if someone was playing with SPOOLF, and didn't see anything incriminating. I
did discover files whose names nearly matched the DFIDs, and listed them.
Their file code is CHKSP. Before I spent much more time on this, I thought I
should ask, what might be causing this?
