Has been working for a year or so, but now the following does nothing.

I've restarted sendmail and jinetd to no avail.

Other clues:

Other systems on our network are dropping also:

Telnet sessions are dropping.

STR software's external e-mails system has been dropping.
(They've provided a workaround, and an upgrade that I 
haven't installed yet.)
