I recently had some struggle with a patch downloaded from the patch
database. When I ran PatchIx it would fall over in trying to create
the CSLT tape. I don't quite emember the error codes, they were not the
ones you mention. These were my problems (solved by the CRC) that you
want to watch out for:

1) PatchIx insists on putting the tape on-line itself. If it finds
it already on-line (like on my system where tapes get auto-mounted)
it will quit. To make sure the tape is offline prior to starting
PatchIx, you can issue the command

     DEVCTRL.MPEXL.TELESUP tape-ldev load=offline

2) It is necessary to have the current group (or at least INSTALL.SYS)
in the HPPATH. PatchIx will terminate with a nondescript message
if this is not the case.

Talking about PatchIx, I had some problems with screen and keyboard,
both on a HP70072 and a HP-UX hpterm window. Has anybody had these
too ?

Hope this helps,
