At first, I was going to suggest the link speed, but then I read the whole
thing and saw the version.
I would suggest that the RC be called, and Powerpatch 6 be ordered and
installed as soon as possible --- this fixes quite a few network related
issues for 5.0. The other alternative is to upgrade to 5.5 (PP2).
Other things to look for are:
1. Is RESLCNF.NET.SYS set up to point the 3000 to a nameserver or two?
Are these nameservers active and provide quick turnaround on resolving
the names to IPs?
2. Link speed - are these large files? Is the 3000 loaded with other
tasks as well as the FTP session? Is the link speed at least 56K
dedicated, or a Frame Relay link of at least 64K CIR? (which is a 128K
Frame Circuit?)
This is about all I can think of for now...
