Answers below. By the way, what version of MPE/iX do you have installed? 6.5
or earlier? You need a later version for bigger than 4gb on LDEV 1 but you
can't use a later version past 6.5 on a 9x7 system. In 7.5, I believe the
latest supported size is 300gb.

Subject: [HP3000-L] HP3000-917LX Disc Drive Question
I hope someone can help me in making the correct decision about increasing
the amount of disc space on my box --
:dstat all
LDEV-TYPE STATUS VOLUME VOLUME SET - GEN
---------- ------- ----------------------------------
1-ST15150N MASTER MEMBER1 MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET-0
2-ST19171N MEMBER MEMBER2 MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET-0
3-ST19171N MEMBER MEMBER3 MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET-0
4-ST19171N MEMBER MEMBER4 MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET-0
5-ST19171N MEMBER MEMBER5 MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET-0
These drives give me a total of 40GB of disc space.
*** 1 - 4gb and 4 - 9gb SE drives
I've seen Seagate disc drives (750GB) at CompUSA.
*** Those are SATA or IDE not SCSI
Can someone tell me if these drives will work on my 917LX?
*** NO
Are they too large to fit into my HP6000 disc tower box?
*** Probably not
And will MPEiX even recognize all the available space on these drives?
*** NO, see above
*** Look in IODFAULT.PUB.SYS for SE drives that are the size you want
(9,18,32gb) and get the Seagate part numbers. Then go to DirtCheapDrives to
get prices and then make a purchase decision.
TIA,
Brian Donaldson.
