Bill,

A planned  online backup with ONLINE=END at which point, it will be time to start the disc to disc
copy.

If the backup takes 19 hours (as Tim originally said), and as a general rule of thumb the restore
takes twice as long... ~38 hours to do the restore, ok, maybe thats overkill but better set the
expectation now, it probably won't happen in 24 hours.

That may be more down time than they can handle.  The other problem is he will only have one 1GB
pipe to the VA7100.  How many are on the XP512?  I bet 4.

The trick is to minimize downtime and keep the reliablity.  Disc to disc copies are safe if done
correctly.

If the copy process fails, they will still have a backup.
