If you have MPEX, you can use a combination of tools in a command script.
While not know exactly what you are working with or trying to accomplish,
take a look at the MPEX commands %BREAKJOB, %PAUSEJOB and %ABORTJOB while
using the enhanced usersets of MPEX.
You could exclude SCHEDuled jobs from the fileset by using -SCHED.
(Sample from the MPEX Manual, page 114 (modified)
%PAUSEJOB "JSCOUNT('@,REPORT.@&EXEC-EXEC')<=3", REPORT,@.@
Pause jobs REPORT,@.@ if the count of EXECuting minus the SCHEDuled jobs is
<= 3.
Just a quick thought. I have been able to do so pretty cool things with
enhanced usersets and MPEX. It just takes time to discover them, read
about them and test them out.
