This haiku has shown up, unattributed, on many mailing lists. Then one
of the lists I'm on posted a clarification and apology. Seems the list
is actually the results of a "21st Century Contest" that Salon Magazine
runs. The results were posted on their website, you can see the haiku
*and* the authors who wrote each one. Go to
http://www.salonmagazine.com/21st/chal/1998/02/10chal2.html

Personally I hate it when someone uses my work without giving me any
credit. Think how many lawsuits we'd be in if we did that with our
products! Intellectual property, programs or poetry, still rightfully
belongs to the creator (or his/her employer ;-) ). Anyway, I suggest
that if you want to pass on this little snippet to your friends you at
least mention the above site.

Patrick, who doesn't always know when to keep his mouth shut.
