Well, if nothing else helps, you might put the macro file
on a (readonly) Samba share and have the PC access it via
a mapped drive letter or UNC syntax \\hp3000\macros\x.y

I'm using this approach with a Java GUI program that is run
by PC users to access two Image/SQL databases via JDBC. By
having them launch the Java program from a Samba share, it
is always the latest version that I put on the server side,
with no need to copy/download to all client PCs.
