Divers Probed for Giving Fish Champagne
Thu Jan 8,12:39 PM ET Add Oddly Enough - Reuters to My Yahoo!
WARSAW (Reuters) - Three Polish divers faced a police investigation Thursday
for possible illegal fishing and animal abuse after a news photo showed them
plying a freshly caught pike with champagne at an outdoor New Year's party.
...
The picture in Nowa Trybuna daily showed three frogmen neck-deep in a lake,
with one of them tipping a bottle of cheap Russian bubbly into the fish's
open mouth.
One of the divers told news agency PAP that they had found the pike
half-dead and wanted to "restore it to consciousness by treating it with
champagne."

OK. I can't leave this one alone. Things overheard after the incident:
"Yer wife is wrong Stash. You don't drink like a fish, you drink way more
den a fish."
"Ahhh, right down da pike..."
"I hope we don't get a judge like da Big Tuna. Alls I want is a fair
herring."
"Nah, champagne won't hurt him! Anyone who's had an aquarium knows that
fish like da bubbles..."
"Hi. My name is Al, and I'm a coho-olic."
"Hi Al."
"Well, things were going really well. We went swimming, had a few drinks
and then we went back to the room. But then she just laid there like a
dead..."
"Hey Stash, I know fish like worms but that ain't Tequila..."
"Hey Wally, when I do this, it kinda looks like Mick Jagger during a
concert..."
"I'm sorry. Did I get it wrong? Does fish go with red wine?"
