We are doing this to our HP 256x printers using a special device similar to a JetDirect card. There are two brands that I know of:
1. Troy XCD XConnect-IIL-T,10baseT assembly
www.xcd.com
2. ExtendNet 100s ESI-2941
www.extendedsystems.com
We use both types, but prefer the Troy unit. It is a little easier to set up. Basically, you attach the unit to your serial printer, add the IP address you have assigned to it in NMMGR (add the node/IP to the directory side AND add the printer name to a network port on the Config side). In NBSpool, you have to Move the output to the device with a statement similar to this:
MOVE *LKSTO1,S=READY,%8-13 TO LKSTO1;PTYPE=LJ
See your NBSpool manual for specifics.
Work great. Very slick.

Hello All,
We are nicely using NBSPOOL s/w on MPE/iX 5.5 to print to Network Printers
defined on NT and Novell ; i.e. to NT print queues and Novell print queues.
Now I wanted to print on Serially attached HP2563 printers , by connecting
them on Network through HP-Jetdirect print servers and even after trying my
best, could not get any print out on HP 2563 printers. I wonder if this is
possible !!
Please share your useful suggestions.
Many thanks in advance, as always for your cooperation.
