Hello Maarten Hoolboom

The specific "CGI DATA LOSS" problem resolved was 'only' seen with
the Open Market Web Server (as was reported by others on this list)
and the fix was made in the Open Market Web Server code, not in posix.

If you are seeing a "CGI DATA LOSS" problem on a web server other
than the Open Market Web Server, I would speculate it is a new
problem and it may need to be pursued with your friends at the HP-
Response Center as a posix problem (Sorry, I do not claim to be a
posix expert)... If you are seeing a problem with the Open Market
Web Server, we do have the patch I mentioned before available, it
is not currently available on any power patch, so it must be ordered
from the HP-RC.

Hope this helps.

: Hello James,

: Thanks for your concern regarding this problem, which impedes us from
: correctly posting cgi database output to the web using an HP3000
: MPEiX5.5 webserver.

: As I found out via my client's local HP representative, HP has
: discontinued the OpenMarket webserver. However, my client now has
: already released official cgi database applications which should not be
: withdrawn. Would it be possible for you to find a solution which would
: work for the other currently available webservers (NCSA, APACHE)?
: Especially since this looks like a Posix implementation problem
: (buffering?).

: This problem is about webserver cgi output to have intermittently missing
: chunks of bytes somewhere in the middle of the output, rendering the
: output pretty much crippled.

: Earlier suggestions were made that this might be a POSIX buffering
: problem while piping the cgi output via stdout to webserver / socket.
: There were some suggestions that this buffer was 8 or 16K. Anyone an
: idea how to increase this buffer size, for example when doing a cat >
: stdout? Something with NMMGR or NETTOOLS.NET.SYS?? Just
: guessing.

: Your help will be greately appreciated!
