I have no telnet expertise, and I suspect that some of the other answers may
serve you better; but on the off chance that this has not been considered:
have you tried using a batchjob that does a STARTSESS.  Someone said that
TELNET does not recognize i/o redirection, but I tried it with STDIN
specified as a disk file containing a couple of TELNET commands and it
seemed to run ok.
