This "account" has been around since MPE/XL 4.5, I believe -- it's needed for "posix compliance" (think "/dev" in unix terms...)

I suspect you don't want to do that :)
[as you noticed, the "account" doesn't have any users, nor does it "react" as you would expect to account & user-based commands] The account contains two groups: CLASSES and DEVICES; the filenames are 8-digit numbers [which are not "MPE legal"] and should (?) correspond to the actual LDEVs you have on your system (and possibly print spooler/classes)
