Use the Linkage-Section (if you're using COBOL).  As each sub-prog calls
the getprocname intrinsic, it passes its name to the sub-prog it's to
call.  You could even set up an array in the link-sec to hold each of
the successive calls, and as each sub-prog passes control back to the
parent, have the parent remove the sub-prog it called from the array
element.

Of course, this assuming I have the remotest idea of what your question
was about.  8-)

d needs to know who called.  I understand I can't get the caller name,
so need to get my own name and pass that down.  how?
