hi all

well, it's always something....  so we decide, yes, enabling
alterchkptstat would be a good thing.  i enable it on two
(of three) systems...no problem.  get to the third system
(which, of course, is the largest and busiest).  do one
alterchkptstat.  do the 2nd one...hit
return...wait...wait...uh oh...ping the box...nope...dsline
to the box...nope...<sigh>

took out the system -- during the middle of the day (thank
you very much <sigh>) -- with a sa2188.  which is closely
related to a sa2182 that patch mpelx46 fixes....which is
already on the system <sigh>            - d 'not having a
good day'
