In this vein, can anybody point me at help with sending spool (or txt files)
out to a print server please?

We have many spooled network printers running, almost all PCL, work fine
from both PCs and 3000 spooler. As soon as we put a 'print server' thing out
there with an IP configured as a spooled network printer, the spools stalls
trying to print to it.
Is this a dead end, or can it/has it been done? All I know so far is these
things are network to serial converters of some sort, and they don't seem to
talk to the hp spooler very well.
