Hello John,

On the current version I get:

/SYS/WORK: ftp
File Transfer Protocol [A0012E08] (C) Hewlett-Packard Co. 2002 [PASSIVE SUPPORT]
ftp> exitonerror
ExitOnError mode on.  (FTPINFO 33)
ftp> open bogus
Cannot connect to host: bogus (FTPERR 9)
Error opening connection to the server. (FTPERR66)
/SYS/WORK: showvar ftp@
FTPLASTERR = -66
FTPXFERFILES = 0
FTPREQFILES = 0
FTPREPLACE = TRUE
FTPLASTMSG = Error opening connection to the server. (FTPERR66)

FTPLASTERR = -66 is what I would expect

Regards,
  James Hofmeister

Fellow Listers,

A bit confused with FTP errors. Had a connection
failure and we always check the FTPLASTSERROR to
handle any error conditions but found the following:

252 File Transfer Protocol [A0012E07] (C)
Hewlett-Packard Co. 2002 [PASSIVE SUPP
ORT]
253 ftp> EXITONERROR
254 ExitOnError mode on. (FTPINFO 33)
255 ftp> OPEN QC6NT
256 Connection Failure
257 Cannot connect to host: (10.52.208.56) (FTPERR
9)
259
260 END OF PROGRAM
261 :
262 :SHOWVAR FTPLASTERR
263 FTPLASTERR = -66
264 :

After exiting FTP with the EXITONERROR, I would expect
to see the last error value be a 9 but instead we got
a 66. I have additional documentation to show:

Error opening connection to the server. (FTPERR66)

but I would have thought that the last error should be
a 9, not a 66. Anyone have any ideas why the error
number change?
