Hmmm,
a while ago, I have used the NFS/iX server part to copy the contents of
an MPE/iX 5.5 LaserROM CD to an HFS directory on "my" 3000. Holger Wiemann's
CDCOPY Utility wasn't available at that time. It was also before Samba/iX
was available to serve these LaserROM files to LAN PC's (without the ancient
CD Extensions/iX)...
How did the copying work?
I mounted the CDROM on an HP-UX box, started the NFS/iX server job on the
3000, mounted a 3000 directory (read/write) on the HP-UX box via NFS and
then issued some cpio -p statement.
It took quite a while (slow network) but the whole bunch of data made it.
Yes, this is not quite an extensive test of NFS/iX.
Yes, I could also have used tar instead of NFS/iX.
But it was fun!
Lars.
PS: I wonder if I should try using NFS/iX to maintain the Samba/iX
source codes with Softbench on HP-UX instead of vi and grep...
