Gentle HP3000 list members,

On February 11th, between SolSymposium and SIG3000, many attendees from one or
both of these events traveled to Alameda Naval Yard to visit the USS Hornet.
 Paul Edwards, a long time figure in the users group and the HP 3000 community
had arranged a tour which he guided on that day.

The pictures taken outside on the deck are properly exposed (for the most
part), and I was playing with a polarizing filter to create some dramatic
effects with the clouds.

The pictures inside were taken with a flash.  This represented more of a
challenge.  My SpeedLight is quite powerful and it can properly illuminate
objects at some distance.  However, since I was using a small area for exposure
control, the camera would heavily over-expose nearer objects or people straying
in the shot.  Ah, the challenges of indoor flash photography in large areas.

None of the captions identify the folks seen in the pictures.  However, do fell
free to comment on the pictures and identify people.

The original pictures are 2048X1536 (3.34MP), which represent about 1.2
megabytes each in fine JPEG.  I have shrunk down the pictures to 1024X768 and
done very little work on each.  When you got to the album, you will see a large
thumbnail (toenail?) of each picture.  You click on the ones you want to see
bigger and they will come up.  If any of you want a copy of the original 3.34MP
picture, just send me an e-mail.

If you find errors or want to contribute more data, just type in a comment.  I
will edit the captions as corrections come in.  The dscnxxxx number is the
original number of the picture, please use this if you want to get a large
original file.
