Fortunately, Kent uses Adager and, once he gets the appropriate IMAGE version
(i.e., "with the fatal LFDS bug corrected by HP"), he can use Adager's
"Enable LFDS" (synonymous with "enable LargeFile") command to easily convert
his jumbo datasets to LFDS.
For your convenience and comfort, I made sure to DISABLE this Adager command
if you are on a version of IMAGE earlier than C.11.0. For example, below are
a couple of screen shots from two different hp3000 machines: The first with an
older version of IMAGE and the second with IMAGE C.11.0.

You are running a version of IMAGE that supports LargeFile datasets,
but this database has Jumbo datasets.
Unfortunately, HP decided not to allow Jumbo datasets to coexist with
LargeFile datasets.
To be able to take advantage of LargeFile datasets, please use Adager's

Before IMAGE version C.11.00, datasets bigger than 4 GB had to be
"Jumbo" datasets (with several "chunks", each chunk limited to a
