HP3000-L Digest - 6 Jul 2000 to 7 Jul 2000 (#2000-62)I've tried this 3 times now from the HP website - bottom line, when I try to restore the downloaded patchfile (which is in a :store format) I get the following error: "Failed to Recover Portions of Compressed Data" (for the program file PATCHIX). With my distribution of 5.5 I got the earliest version of PATCHIX and HP in the website suggested upgrading to the latest version...
I have been uploading it from reflection 5 to the 917 using binary, 256 byte records - and per the websites instructions using FROMBYTE -
:FROMBYTE.HPBIN.SYS '-B PATCHIX5 PATCHSTR' where patchix5 is the uploaded patchix55.store. Am I doing something obviously wrong? I am of course in the INSTALL group of the SYS account under MANAGER...
I haven't even started trying to implement the downloaded patches yet...
TIA
Bill
