Sounds like you're connecting via TELNET, so try -

Logon to the firewall with RMC.
Select deamons
Then double click on TELNETD on the right hand side.
This should give you a screen that will allow you to set the timeout.
Then save the new settings and tell it to reconfigure the firewall.

If you are using NS/VT.... Are you using redirects? Any clues in the log?
