You did not indicate what software is used on the NT Server.
In any event, I would recommend that you post this message, with somewhat more
information, on the WINNT-L listserver. It should get you some answers back.

BTW, I may be wrong, but I believe these are the people who make the software
that HP3000-L runs on.
Kind regards,

Subject: Off Topic: NT Server Non-Responsive
We are using an NT Server as our email server. It dials out to our ISP
every 20 minutes and sends/receives email. We are using MS Outlook Express
as our email client. I have mine set up to check for new mail every 10
minutes. Occasionally (and usually when the server is dialing out to get
new email), my OE will report that:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: '10.251.46.18', Server:
'10.251.46.18', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
I have tried PINGing the NT server at these times, and the PING times out.
It seems as though when the mail server software kicks in and initiates a
dial-up networking session with the ISP that the "real" network connection
(via the NIC) is "disconnected". Is there anything I can do about this,
besides pestering the ISP (who supplied the email software) and the vendor
of the email software?
Thanks for you help.
