Yes however there's no way to manipulate the picker other than the front panel. An Autoloader works fine however a tape library with more than 1 tape head will not work. Neither will you be able to manage tapes or select specific tapes in certain slots. A tape library does not work with MPE and loader does.

Best Regards,

Bill Green

No. There should be a class called SCSI PASSTHRU or some such. It's not a pseudo device, it's a SCSI passthrough driver than sends the scsi commands to the device unaltered.

What rev of MPE are you on?

It's been well over a decade, so bear with me.

The ldev for the SCSI address of the tape unit is configured as a standard DDS or DLT. The robot is configured as a scsi-passthru device. You will need software to drive the robot, unless you configure it in semi-automatic mode.

What auto-changer are we talking about here?

Does anyone remember how to configure an HP auto-changer tape unit on the HP3000? It has two scsi addresses. One for the tape unit, the other for the changer itself.
