Jon,

How is the name resolution done? How is the port number known for a given
site?

Example: Company X has an ftp site at ftp://ftp.companyx.com That name
according to pacbell (or whomever) resolves to 12.34.56.78. Company X has
an ftp listener running at that ip listening on port 32765.

How do I tell the command file I include in my job to connect to
12.34.56.78:32765?

Again showing my stupidity, is this something I have to know about the site?
My concern being that the address of their ftp site may change, and so long
as pacbell is aware, I shouldn't have to update my job.

Thanks for the help,
Rs~
