Jean,
When you create an account does not have an assigned volume set.
A group has a HOMEVS (assigned) volume set.
Hence if you create the account, then create the groups
NEWACCT ACCT1,MGR
NEWACCT ACCT1,MGR;ONVS=MYVOL1
NEWACCT ACCT1,MGR;ONVS=MYVOL2
NEWGROUP GRP1,ACCT1;HOMEVS=MYVOL1
NEWGROUP GRP1,ACCT1;ONVS=MYVOL1
NEWGROUP GRP2,ACCT1;HOMEVS=MYVOL2
NEWGROUP GRP2,ACCT1;ONVS=MYVOL2
All files in GRP1 will exist on MYVOL1
All files in GRP2 will exist on MYVOL2
You can not rename across volume sets... you need to copy across volume sets.
So to move the files from MYVOL1 to MYVOL2
Copy file.grp1.acct1, file.grp2.acct1
It is confusing because the system volume needs the pointers to the Account and group. But you
also need to create the account and group on the private volume.
I find HELP NEWACCT and NEWGROUP usefull.
Hope that helps.
