Jim Phillips has had two of three 2GB Seagate drives fail within a 24 hour
period and is questioning the realiability of the drives.

We too had several drives (5 to be exact) fail within a 24 hour period. We
were more fortunate though in that they were on a non system volume set, and
the volume set was mirrored.

Interestingly enough all the failing drives were manufactured within a two
day period which leads me to believe there was a quality issue in the
manufacturing process.

We keep an inventory of spare drives because we have a large system -
currently 150 of the 2GB drives. The problems have been rare and luckily our
system volume set has not been impacted (knock on wood).
