If it misses I/O path configuration, system releases the ldev number,
and your non-nailed I/O devices claim it right away.  If you did the
showdev and it appeared with a "J" flag noting "Job-accepting" like
the other non-nailed ldevs, it fits my symptoms, although not the same
disease.

Customers under duress often perform miracles :-)  But the same old
adage applies to almost any problem:  reboot, cycle power, reseat the
boards, reseat the power cables, reseat the connectors, etc.

This is fine for PCs, breadmakers, microwaves, and the like; but it's
no way to run a mission critical server (even if it does often work).
