It's more than a shame that QCTerm is likely to significantly outlive the
HP3000 now, but because of that prospect we're in the process of mitigating
some of the HP3000-isms we put into QCTerm and making it a more standard HP
terminal emulator, appropriate for UNIX and Linux use.

But the same's just as true of the DEC VT terminals as well. They too
outlived their primary platform but live on in a thousand million instances
of UNIX and Linux.

In that regard -- although it isn't true anymore -- I used to enjoy typing:

     http://www.dec.com

into my browser's entry box and watch history unfold before my eyes. The DEC
page would hesitate for a few seconds and then auto-switch to:

     http://www.compaq.com

which in turn would also hesitate for a few seconds before it autoswitched to:

     http://www.hp.com

I'd sit there, completely transfixed by the process, waiting to see what was
next -- and always disappointed that the browser proved to be no better a
pronogisticator of the future than I am.
