This is a question for all fellow Samba users.
EDI is, and will become more, important to our business as more and more
customers/suppliers start moving away from using the Fax as a means of
placing/accepting orders. Therefore, we need someway of ensuring that any
failure of our EDI system is reported as soon as possible.
We have just implemented phase 1 of an 'Electronic Document Interchange'
solution that uses a Samba share to pass files between a PC which is running
the EDI software and our HPe3000. Recently we had Samba stop working on us
because somebody changed a setting in the RESLVCNF file when they installed
some software. Our current automatic checking procedures would not have
captured this problem so we need to do something better.
If anybody is willing to pass on details of how they automatically check
that Samba is working, it would be appreciated.
We are running Samba under INETD on MPE/iX 6.5
