What is more, in the US schools are not only paid for locally but also
controlled locally. If you don't like what the local school district is
doing, there is a simple answer. Get out and vote - if this isn't enough,
run for the school board. It's not much good looking to the president,
whatever fancy "education" title he might come up with (or anyone else in
Washington for that matter) to solve the local school problems.
