Quintessential School Systems is in the same business that the Washington State Center for Information Services is in--that of providing Information Services for the education administrative market, and has been licensed by the State of Washington to sell packages to community colleges and local governments [they have an excellent payroll package]; more information about them may be found at: http://www.cis.ctc.edu/pub/colleges.htm

They have been making the transition away from the HP3000 and are quite highly successful; they have a staff of more than 50 people and have collectively more than 500 years of experience among them.

Now it appears that QSS does not participate in giving away free software or participate in generating utilities which can be used freely by the HP3000 Community, unless something here has been missed, although they offer QWEBS for a modest price of $495.

Not participating in OpenMPE gives QSS a much clearer picture of why, as Duane seems to be saying, that OpenMPE has already failed [and if so, contributing to it in any way would by that logic would be a stupid thing to do].

This might be important information, and we would very much appreciate Duane's and QSS's perspective of this perceived failure: It would be quite valuable in shaping the future, if any, for MPE and its customers.

If you would be so kind as to provide us with more details....
